The media have called her a "horror queen" for her role in horror movies. Her debut role was Marnie in HBO's comedy-drama Girls (2012-17) which for which she won an award from the Critics' Choice Award. Her breakout came from the role of Rose Armitage in the horror film Get Out (2017), that earned her nominations from The MTV Movie Awards and the Screen Actors Guild Awards among many other honors.
