April Lockhart

April Lockhart was born on July 4, 1995. When she was in the seventh grade, she started playing guitar and taking piano lessons which ignited her love for songwriting. The first song she wrote was called Different, which she wrote at 12 years of age. At 14 old, she devoted an enormous amount of time creating song ideas and perfecting the music. Over the next few months, she started taking writing excursions with her father on trips to LA in addition to NY. April included other subjects in her track, Take my Hand. These topics included topics for her friends who dealt issues like peer pressure, disabilities or even teen suicidal ideas. Lockhart has become a sought-after lifestyle influencer, as well as having partnerships with clean-cut beauty brands Ilia, has built a large audience. She was born without her left hand and that is an aspect of her identity, but that's not the entire story. Lockhart's profile on Instagram doesn't cover up her disability, but it does not just focus on it. What is the message? We all have multiple aspects and that we are all unique and we're more than our physical selves. I don't want that to define me I don't want to be a disability influencer where that's all I talk about because there are many different aspects to me. Lockhart speaks via video from her home in Nashville. This doesn't have any effect on my daily life. I conduct every day as normal and have found the best way for me to adapt to things. This is a major part of my life, so it is important to discuss the subject. Lockhart is a true source of source of inspiration for anyone who wants to be self-accepting and is currently on a lengthy journey to achieve it. Yet, she confesses having moments of feeling uneasy about her appearance and wearing clothing with arms. Now she wears whatever outfit she wants and posts pictures on her Facebook page with pride. She says that self-love is a journey. It's hard to say when you'll reach the final stage. It's a fact that I see common to everyone regardless of what the source of their anxiety. People you associate yourself with that truly understand your personal story and who can look inside your soul are the ones you should be relying on who can remind you of the things you're worried about.
